FALLUJAH (October 22, 2004) - Our special foreign correspondent, traveling with the Kerry campaign in Pennsylvania (USA), has just learned that Mr. Zarqawi, the professional terrorist leader in Iraq, will be at the first game of the World Series on Saturday. He will attend the game as the honored guest of ABC's Nightline. He is scheduled to appear on a special Nightline program, broadcasted live immediately after the first game of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals is completed.
Mr. Ted Koppel of Nightline gave the following explanation for the Zarqawi invitation." We at ABC recognize that Iraq still is the top issue of the presidential election this year. Unfortunately for the American electorate, the situation is totally confusing, especially in light of the 538 different positions provided by the candidates, just in the last few weeks. In order to obtain the ultimate clarification, there is no better way than to talk directly to Mr. Zarqawi to obtain his objective assessment and with his help to achieve the ultimate judgment on the Iraq situation. We at ABC are proven performer in cases like this. Latest example was the the controversy between Senator Kerry and the Swift Boat veterans. By submitting the discussion directly to our former Vietnamese communist enemies, Nightline was able to bring a clear, authoritative and final judgment on this painful topic."
Questions to Mr. Ashcroft of Department of Justice and Mr. Ridge of Department of Homeland Security regarding the entry visa for Mr. Zarqawi, were not answered at the time of this posting. However we did obtain a comment from Senator Kerry. He says "I see no problem with Mr. Zarqawi attending the World Series. The Red Sox needs every support possible. I also support the appearance of Mr. Zarqawi on ABC's Nightline, that is the "global test" that I have talked about."
