MOSUL (January 19, 2005) - Only hours before President Bush's second inauguration, Senator Kerry surprisingly showed up in Mosul, and continued his seemingly never-ending election campaign today. In a press conference, he denounced President Bush for "disenfranchising legitimate voters" like the "Zarqawi patriots" and other "insurgence fighters" in Iraq. He announced that a Democratic Party team of voting experts from Washington State under leadership of Senator Boxer will arrive in Baghdad this weekend to make sure that every vote is counted.
When some reporters reminded Senator Kerry of the fact that this is the "Iraqi election," not the "US election that you already lost two months ago", and this is "Mosul, not Columbus, Ohio," Senator Kerry offered this sensational disclosure. "Mosul is my opening salvo for the 2008 election," he said. "I intend to win the US presidential election in 2008,"Senator Kerry continued. " I chose Mosul to open my 2008 campaign, because with all the money we are spending here, with all the focus that Americans have on this country, Iraq has virtually become our 51st state. Goodbye Iowa caucus, welcome Mosul primary".
