Judith Miller’s “other source” unmasked by CBS News

New York (October 17, 2005) – Sources close to CBS News revealed late Sunday evening that CBS News had obtained “accurate and irrefutable” evidence, which clearly identified the “other source” of Ms. Judith Miller in the Valerie Plame affair. As reported earlier last week, Ms. Miller struck a deal with the Plame prosecutor, Mr. Fitzgerald, to testify in front of a grand jury. For that, she needed not to reveal her other source involved in this affair. According to Ms. Miller’s statement in the Sunday New York Times, she did not even remember who gave her the Valerie Plame name. The identity of the other source will be revealed in today’s CBS Evening News program, which includes “authentic security videotape” of a famous New York restaurant, where the name Valerie Plame was first conveyed to Ms. Miller by this mysterious source. Latest update: Mr. Dan Rather of CBS News has just confirmed some minutes ago, that based on “unimpeachable documents” in his possession, Ms. Miller’s "other source" was Ahmed Chalabi, a former protégé of the neocons in the Pentagon, and current Iraq’s minister for oil affairs.
