Washington DC (November 15, 2005) – The ongoing controversy about various CIA leaks fueled by the Democrats and their allies has once again raised a fundamental question about this famous intelligence agency. What became of the CIA? The answer unfortunately appeared to be very troublesome. Incompetence has been clearly proven, not only by the faulty pre-war intelligence but also by the pointedly leaks to the left-of-the center media, in an attempt to hurt the war efforts of the Bush administration. In May 2005, the New York Times revealed the secret CIA air operations under the covert name of Aero Contractors Ltd. from Johnson County, North Carolina. Then in November 2005, the Washington Post revealed the CIA “black sites” around the globe. It was obvious that these incidents definitely caused adverse impact on the national war efforts. The amazing thing about the disclosure of these secret CIA operations was that nobody in the Washington demanded an investigation to find out who in the CIA was involved in the leak, while a big deal was made about the so-called affair about the non-covert CIA emplyee Plame. To neutral observers, the recent development indicated that some high-ranking CIA insiders had switched from fighting a covert war against terrorism to one against the Bush administration. This attitude appeared to penetrate deep inside top echelons of the CIA. It would be disturbingly scary for the average American citizens if they knew what the Chief of the CIA Bin Laden unit from 1996-1999, Mr. Michael Scheurer, really thought about the war on terrorism. According to Mr. Scheuer, Bin Laden was “the most respected, loved, romantic, charismatic and perhaps able figure in the last 150 years of Islamic history,” who engaged only in a “defensive Jihad.” On the other hand, the US has turned into a “ hated and feared advocate of a new imperial order,” with all “the same characteristics as 19th century European imperialism,” and has provided “support for leaders, no matter how brutal and undemocratic, as long as they obey the imperial power, and the exploitation and depletion of natural resources.” How could a person with such delusion and deranged thoughts and radical-leftist views achieve the top anti-terrorist rank under President Clinton? How many of them are still left in the current CIA? One can only hope that Porter Goss, the current CIA Director, former Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and former CIA clandestine servive operative, would succeed in transforming the CIA back to a top-rated and respectable intelligence agency.

CIA: A Culture of Incompetence and Delusion?
