Iraq: What's about option No. 4?

Washington DC (November 24, 2005) – Currently on the table: three options. Options 1 (Democrats, Murtha-Kerry plan): Withdraw the troops out of Iraq quickly, start even before Christmas, redeploy somewhere in the region, watch the Iraqis slaughter each other from afar, not the slightest idea what to do next. Option 2 (Bush): Stay the course with current troop level of about 150,000, wait for Iraqi Armed Forces stand up, not the slightest idea when. Option 3 (McCain, Lieberman): Actually a Bush-Plus plan, with more troops; stay until Iraqi troops are ready, again no timetable. What's about option 4? Same as option 3, but with a timetable. However not a timetable for US trops to pull out, but a timetable for the Iraqi Armed Forces to stand-up, to be worked out between the US and the elected Iraqi government.
