One Valuable Milligram of Eternity

Houston (January 19, 2006) – After the successful landing in Utah last Sunday, the Star Dust canister carrying millions of interstellar dust particles captured in an Aerogel collector during the spaceship travel through the comet Wild 2, was finally opened by NASA scientists. The age of the captured particles, which weighted only one milligram, was estimated at 4.6 billion years and scientists hoped that the analysis would help understand the origin of the universe. Considering that this Star Dust space mission costs about $ 212 millions, this space dust is 15 million times more expensive than gold.
