BASRAH (October 30, 2004) - According to a survey release today by the University of Basrah, the American Electoral College is the top school choice for a huge majority of Iraqi students. Asked where they would like go to school after finishing their undergraduate study in Iraq, 78 % of the surveyed students from the five major Iraqi universities Baghdad, Basrah, Mosul, Kirkuk and An-Najaf named the American Electoral College as their first choice. In second place was the MIT with 12 % and in third place was State University of Iroquois in Illinois with 4 %.
"The Electoral College is the most important university in America", the students says. "Everyone is talking about this school nonstop on TV, everyone - including President Bush and Senator Kerry - cites the Electoral College as the ultimate authority for everything happening in America today. No one cares about Georgetown University, John Hopkins, Harvard or even Yale these days"
Another interesting finding of this survey was the fact that no Iraqi student seemed to know where exactly the Electoral College is located. 25 % thought it was located in Washington D.C, 30 % in Elector (Ohio) and 45 % in Green Zone (Baghdad).
