CBS obtained videotape of Eason Jordan's speech in Davos

ZURICH (February 6, 2005) - CBS News announced late Sunday afternoon that it has obtained the original videotape of Eason Jordan's controversial speech in Davos. Mr. Eason Jordan, Chief News Executive of CNN, has accused the US military of "targeting journalists and killing 12 of them." Mr. Jordan reportedly made this controversial, unsupported statement at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday, January 27. This outrageous accusation has been discussed passionately in the blogosphere, but the MSM mainstream media did not show an ounce of interest at all. At least, until now.
Mr Dan Rather of CBS News reported that he obtained this videotape from an unnamed Swiss intelligence source in Zurich. He confirmed that Mr. Eason Jordan's statement was fully captured in this tape. The full tape will be broadcasted on CBS Evening News on Monday, Mr. Rather said. Responding to this latest news development, CNN issued a short statement questioning Mr. Rather's credibility, "...if Mr. Rather was able to produce a computer document from 1972, he sure can create an authentic videotape of a 10 day old event."
