White House reveals Bush AFL-CPO union membership
Washington DC (September 5, 2005) - Responding to criticism that President Bush was violating the sanctity of union spirit by working on Labor Day, White House revealed for the first time today that President Bush has been a member of the top-secret union AFL-CPO (American Federation of Labor - Congress of President Organizations) for the last five years. To be a member of this union, the person must be the active President of the United States. So President Bush is the current and only member of this union. He also functions as the union president and chairman of the union advisory board. The White House spokesperson indicated that according Chapter XXIII, section 14, paragraph 2 of this union, member of the AFL-CPO can work where and when she or he likes. So the criticism from the media, especially from the Scappleface blog, was 100 % groundless.
